January 4, Minsk /BELTA/. On the eve of the Nativity of Christ, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the Orthodox Christians of Belarus on this holiday. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Head of State.

"For millions of people, Christmas has become a symbol of embracing the immutable values of Christian life and spirituality. In the complex modern world, the grandeur and sublimity of this moving celebration, which brings confidence in the victory of the ideals of humanism and justice, do not fade," the congratulatory message reads.

"The Nativity of Christ instills hope and all-encompassing love in hearts, fills life with sincere joy and good expectations. It is not for nothing that the Christmas days are a time for fulfilling wishes, charity and mercy, special attention to all who need our participation, care and help," the President noted.

Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that Christmas unites families, creates a wonderful mood, and brings peace and harmony to every home. "May the warmth of love and friendship not leave you and your loved ones, and may the moral strength of this great holiday help in the implementation of your boldest endeavors," the President wished. -0-
