Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko believes it is necessary to significantly raise the level of education in schools, as well as the demands on students and parents. He stated this today while receiving a report from the Minister of Education of Belarus, Sergey Maskevich, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader. "Now we need to significantly increase the level of education in schools and the demands, even to the level of Soviet times, when there were the strictest demands on students, and parents for the education and upbringing of children in school. And this is the main task. We do not demand anything more from teachers," said Alexander Lukashenko. "Now we are waiting for the main blow to be struck in the main direction: education, upbringing, and raising these demands on students and parents. And everything that is needed for this (regulatory, organizational) - all must be done," added the head of state. By the way, some measures in this direction are provided for by the Education Code, which will come into force on September 1, 2011. -0-
