January 9, Minsk /BELTA/. The city of Minsk must develop comprehensively. This was demanded by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on January 9 during a working meeting with the Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Nikolai Ladutko, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader.
In the capital, along with residential facilities, kindergartens, schools, retail outlets, as well as consumer services and sports facilities must be built simultaneously. In particular, the task has been set to begin the construction of new sports and recreation complexes in the city. At the end of the year, such a facility will begin to be built in the Zavadzkiy district of the capital, and similar complexes will also be built in other districts.
According to Nikolai Ladutko, 1 million square meters of housing were built in Minsk last year. The same amount is to be built in the capital in 2012.
The head of state has been briefed on the prospects for the development and implementation of investment projects in Minsk.
Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that the capital of Belarus must have the highest investment attractiveness, and all necessary conditions have been created at the state level for this. Now everything depends on the activities of the local authorities.
The President noted some dynamics in the implementation of a number of investment projects for the development of Minsk. Alexander Lukashenko demanded to accelerate the implementation of investment projects in the residential complex "Vostochny Mayak Minska", the business center "Minsk-City", on Pobediteley Avenue, in the area of the Minsk Ring Road.
The Mayor of the city noted that in accordance with the President's instructions, there is a specific plan for the development of the capital, and the city authorities are ready to cooperate in its implementation, primarily with domestic businesses, as well as with foreign companies.
Since the fourth quarter of last year, there has been an increase in investment activity from foreign enterprises, companies, and private investors. For example, over the last three months of last year, more than 10 investment agreements were concluded, which will begin to be practically implemented in Minsk in the first half of 2012.
