On March 9, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demands strict control over the quality of housing under construction. This issue was one of the central topics during the report on March 9 to the Head of State by the Chairman of the State Control Committee Alexander Yakobson, BelTA was informed by the press service of the Belarusian leader. The President was briefed on the results of the State Control Committee's work in 2010 and the tasks for 2011. The focus of the meeting was on strengthening control over housing construction and its quality. As the results of the work in 2010 showed, there are still many unresolved problems in this area. For example, last year about 180 thousand square meters of housing were withdrawn from commissioning. The President demanded strict control over the quality of housing under construction so that such facts do not recur in the future. Alexander Yakobson assured that the issues of housing construction, its volumes and quality will remain under the strict control of the committee this year. In addition, the meeting thoroughly reviewed the issue of state support and its effective use. As reported to the Head of State, according to the results of 2010, the number of inefficient projects using state support amounted to about one third of the number of economic entities checked by the committee. At the same time, it should be taken into account that a number of economic entities, due to objective circumstances, cannot work effectively, in particular, this applies to some enterprises of the agro-industrial complex. The President instructed to conduct a serious analysis of the situation and report the results to him. Annually, state support is received by more than 3 thousand economic entities. At the same time, over the past years, a clear negative trend of recipients of support failing to achieve the set target indicators has been observed. A certain part of state support funds is spent inefficiently, with the main amount of inefficiently used funds being spent on the implementation of individual investment and innovation projects, which indicates insufficient elaboration of decisions on the necessity of their implementation. The State Control Committee proposes to direct state support exclusively to profitable projects. Alexander Lukashenko, referring to the overall work of the State Control Committee, demanded in-depth analytical work in the exercise of control functions. The Chairman of the State Control Committee, in turn, emphasized that in 2011, control and analytical work will take on a larger scale.
