To provide Belarusian agricultural organisations with new domestic machinery and facilitate the transition to modern production technologies, the Head of State Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 35 on January 24, approving the Republican Programme for Equipping Agricultural Industrial Complex Organisations, Construction, Repair and Modernisation of Production Facilities of these Organisations with Modern Machinery and Equipment for 2011-2015. This was reported to BelTA by the press service of the Belarusian leader. The Programme envisages the supply of 10,980 tractors (including 3,090 with an engine power of over 250 hp), 4,400 trucks for various purposes, 7,650 grain harvesters, 2,056 forage harvesters (including 1,207 with an engine power of over 300 hp), 470 beet harvesters, 2,950 mowers, 3,900 various ploughs, 3,900 combined soil-cultivating and seeding units, and 2,700 soil-cultivating units, 5,400 machines for applying mineral and organic fertilisers, and 2,380 machines for chemical protection of plants and seeds, as well as other machinery and equipment to rural areas in 2011-2015. All machinery will be sold on a long-term lease basis. The volumes of procurement of modern machinery and equipment, construction, modernisation and repair of production facilities will be approved annually by the Ministry of Agriculture and Foodstuffs upon agreement with the regional executive committees, and the volumes and sources of financing for the republican programme will be determined by the government and approved by the Head of State.-0-
