"Unfortunately, there are those who like to whine and assure everyone that nothing good will happen and the prospects are bleak. But one can recall that in the mid-90s the country lay at the bottom of an abyss, and no one thought that we would rise then. There were times when even paying a meager pension was considered a great blessing, when many families thought not about customs clearance of a second foreign car, but about what they would eat for lunch tomorrow," the head of state noted. "But we got out of it, we stood firm. And if we overcame those problems that seemed insurmountable then, then are there any doubts that we will cope now?!" Alexander Lukashenko is confident. He cited the rapid development that Asian countries have experienced over the past decade as an example. "We cannot repeat their path exactly, because there are no coincidences in history. We must boldly paint the image of our future - the future that the younger generation must build," the President said. According to him, this is the future of a country that is rapidly moving forward, faithful to its traditions, but greedily absorbing all the best and advanced, living by its labor and mind, a country where it is not just quiet and calm, but where one can live brightly, excitingly and interestingly. "You, your active members, all our youth, are to build the future. But for this, each of you must understand - nothing in the world is given without hard work and trials, there is no easy bread, and what seems like it turns out to be ordinary cheese in a mousetrap," the Belarusian leader warned. -0-
