5 December, Minsk /Alina Grishkevich - BELTA/. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko positively assesses Belarusian-Chinese cooperation and is confident in its expansion in the future. He stated this on December 5 during a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Belarus, Lu Guicheng, in connection with the completion of his diplomatic mission in Belarus, BELTA was informed by the press service of the head of state.
"When friends leave, it's not entirely good. But we live in hope that friendly China will adhere to the same course and send us people who will continue to build policies, as you and your predecessors have done, because our relationship is for the long haul," said Alexander Lukashenko.
The President noted that China is the most dynamically developing state in the world in the economic sphere. "And we rejoice in your every success. We want the Chinese people to be rich, and the state to be powerful," the President emphasized.
According to the head of state, the main center of power that balances and will continue to balance the situation in the world is the People's Republic of China. "We are proud that we established very close friendly relations long before this process, and we consider it an achievement that we correctly identified the development directions with China two decades ago, understanding that the PRC has great prospects," said the President of Belarus.
"China is coming to Belarus, we are proud of this, but we expect more. We want China, without interfering with anyone, without opposing anyone, to come to the center of Europe with its investments, as it is doing, and doing so carefully, in my opinion," added Alexander Lukashenko.
According to him, there are decent plans for the future, including multi-billion dollar investments from China in the Belarusian economy. "We are also not standing still, we are creating joint Belarusian-Chinese enterprises. I think this is a good direction for cooperation," the President emphasized.
The head of state expressed confidence that Lu Guicheng, despite leaving Belarus, will remain a sincere friend of the Belarusian state.
For a significant personal contribution to the development and strengthening of political, trade and economic, credit and investment, scientific and technical, and humanitarian ties between Belarus and China, Alexander Lukashenko presented the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC with the Order of Francisc Skorina. The President said that state awards are not often presented to representatives of other countries in Belarus, therefore the Order is a high assessment of the personal contribution of the Chinese diplomat to the development of Belarusian-Chinese interaction.
Lu Guicheng, in turn, expressed words of great gratitude for the award and noted that he perceives it not only as a personal one, but also as an assessment of Belarusian-Chinese cooperation as a whole. "This is a true symbol of friendship between Belarus and China," the Ambassador emphasized.
According to Lu Guicheng, over the past three years, Belarus and China have made significant progress in developing ties in all areas: "This fully meets the interests of the Chinese and Belarusian peoples. The Chinese government and people highly appreciate the current state of friendly, constructive bilateral relations."
At the same time, the head of the diplomatic mission stressed that the potential for Belarusian-Chinese cooperation is very great and the countries have good prospects for its realization. -0-
