Holding personal consultations allows for resolving specific people's issues, as well as identifying systemic problems that concern the population. This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the House of Representatives, Vladimir Andreichenko, commenting on the results of a personal consultation with citizens at the Dokshitsy District Executive Committee, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
In the speaker's opinion, personal consultations are very important. "We must understand that in our country, these are not one-off events, but systematic work, built on a planned basis. For example, once a quarter in each district of my electoral constituency, I try to hold such meetings with the population. They yield a lot," Vladimir Andreichenko is convinced. "We solve people's specific issues. Of course, they are diverse, including those that cannot be resolved immediately. Then specific instructions are given to district executive committees, and we try to provide assistance in resolving them. There are also issues that cannot be resolved. We talk about that too."
Vladimir Andreichenko paid special attention to two key aspects, in his view, related to holding personal consultations. "The first is that they provide an opportunity to see if there are any systemic issues for this region that concern the entire population. Fortunately, I haven't noticed any yet. There are one-off issues (major repairs, etc.), and we try to resolve them. The second point is important for us, as legislators: to align our work with people's needs and use these insights in legislative activities," the speaker emphasized.
During the conversation, Vladimir Andreichenko also touched upon social sphere issues. One of them, in his opinion, is related to the decrease in the rural population. "This is a systemic issue that requires a response. It is not simple, it requires money, but it must be resolved," he is convinced. The Chairman of the House of Representatives recalled that during the implementation of the village revival program, agro-towns were significantly improved, and a lot of housing was built there. Perhaps it is worth examining how these settlements live and develop now, identifying the most promising ones, and focusing increased attention on them again, updating their social infrastructure, and looking at job opportunities.
"There is some unevenness in the development of territories, both among districts and among regions. These are the issues we need to consider at the national level. The program for the next five-year period is about to be drafted. I think we need to pay special attention to them," Vladimir Andreichenko concluded.
