A lung ventilator has been donated to the Vitebsk Regional Children's Clinical Centre as part of the "Our Children" campaign.
– This is an important gift for the healthcare institution within the framework of the republican charity campaign "Our Children" and the joint project of the Belarusian Peace Foundation and ZAO "Patio" "High Five for Kindness!", – emphasised the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Vyacheslav Durnov. – The most important thing is that this device is greatly needed by children; it will provide concrete, life-saving assistance. We are donating it with all our hearts!
The portable, user-friendly device, as reported by the Chief Physician of the VRCCC, Galina Puzanova, is intended for children undergoing treatment not in the intensive care unit, but in somatic departments, for example, surgical or endocrinological. Under certain conditions, a child with a severe pathology who cannot breathe independently can be discharged home with this device. Centre specialists train parents on how to use it and provide supervision – at least once a week, a resuscitator visits to check the device's operating parameters, offer consultations, and supply consumables for the maintenance of the medical equipment. The Children's Centre has more than one such device, but each one is in demand and vitally necessary for young patients requiring palliative care.
As reported by the Director of the Vitebsk branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation, Tatyana Tumanova, within the framework of the joint project of the Belarusian Peace Foundation and ZAO "Patio" "High Five for Kindness!", it is planned to donate ventilators and other medical equipment to children's healthcare institutions to a total value of over 1 million rubles.
During the "Our Children" campaign in the Vitebsk region, children from Novopolotsk, Braslav, Rossony, and other settlements will receive gifts from the foundation to the value of over 10 thousand rubles.
