He expressed his vision of university education today in Novopolotsk, answering a question from a participant of an educational forum for individuals included in the personnel reserve of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, a BELTA correspondent reports. "A conceptual approach to a university as a vocational school has traditionally developed. It seems to me that a university should be viewed as life organisation in the search for oneself through a profession," said Aleksandr Radkov. Although this breaks the stereotype, he is convinced that the future lies in this concept. The Belarusian education system must be formed based on national traditions. At the same time, it must be integrated and develop clearly in accordance with state requirements and the overall formats of educational development. According to Aleksandr Radkov, the bachelor's and master's degree system will work in Belarus. We will come to this system, but not immediately, he said. Speaking about higher education, Aleksandr Radkov emphasised that it is necessary not to forget about the development of vocational and secondary specialised education. An educational balance must be maintained. Aleksandr Radkov also noted that there are shortcomings in the Belarusian education system, particularly in the study of business and foreign languages. Furthermore, in his opinion, it is impossible to return to the Soviet education system.
