This was stated by the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, Chairman of the Council for Interaction of Local Self-Government Bodies, Anatoly Rubinov, at the opening of the field meeting of the council, dedicated to the work of local self-government bodies of Lepel District in creating the necessary conditions for the welfare of the rural population, BELTA correspondent reports. "The human being is the main value of our state, and labor and justice are at the forefront of state policy," emphasized Anatoly Rubinov. This is precisely why local authorities are assigned a key role in resolving pressing public issues. They must provide conditions for labor so that people can arrange their lives with dignity and see prospects for themselves and their children. "Addressing problems that at first glance seem private and insignificant should become the concern of local authorities in rural areas: employment, crime and alcoholism prevention, improvement of settlements, development of the social sphere and healthcare – this is what concerns people," added the speaker. The participants of the meeting will familiarize themselves with the work of the Kamensky and Borovsky rural councils of deputies in supporting personal subsidiary plots, expanding the volume and improving the quality of paid services, organizing communal and domestic services for the population, developing medical services, and will visit enterprises in the district and objects of the social and cultural sphere.
