21 March, Minsk /BELTA/. Renouncing a forceful scenario is key to resolving disagreements between Belarus and the European Union. This was stated by Head of the Information Department - Press Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrei Savinykh, in response to a question from a BELTA correspondent about the prospects for resolving disagreements between Belarus and EU countries. The official representative of the foreign ministry stressed: "A mutually acceptable resolution of existing disagreements is the only sensible way. This is in the interests not only of Belarus but also of the European Union. The main question is how to implement it? It is quite obvious that the movement along this path can only begin by reducing the intensity of confrontation." At the same time, Andrei Savinykh noted: "First of all, the practice of constant expansion of sanctions by the EU must be stopped. And it is not at all about whether the sanctions have an effect. It is important that this practice excludes the possibility of a meaningful and rational convergence of positions. When one side is engaged in active forceful actions, any efforts by the other side to de-escalate tension become unlikely, as, incidentally, does the return of ambassadors. One must simply be aware of this. Renouncing the imposition of a forceful scenario significantly changes the situation. In this case, prerequisites for resolving the entire complex of issues arise." "To be frank, this is the only way. Belarus is a proponent of precisely this path. The EU's choice will be shown by its actions. I can say that, advocating for a resolution, we are ready for any scenarios," stated the Head of the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.-0-
