On June 21, Glubokoe / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Tozik supported the idea of establishing a professional drama theatre in Polotsk. He announced this today at a meeting of the national organizing committee for the preparation of the Day of Belarusian Written Language in Glubokoe, a BELTA correspondent reports. The issue of Polotsk arose during the preparations for the Day of Written Language in connection with the fact that an exhibition dedicated to the founder of Belarusian theatre, Ignatiy Buyanitskiy, a native of the village of Prozorki, is being created at the Prozorki school in the Glubokoe district. Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Kosinets informed that the regional executive committee is initiating the establishment of a theatre in Polotsk and naming it after Ignatiy Buyanitskiy.
