Emergency power outages due to strong winds occurred in three eastern districts of the Vitebsk region, the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed a BELTA correspondent. According to RUP "Vitebskenergo", as a result of strong winds, with gusts reaching 14 m/s, emergency power outages occurred in Vitebsk, Liozno, and Orsha districts. In Vitebsk district, three power lines, 43 transformer substations, 18 settlements, and one farm were affected; in Liozno district, one power line, 17 transformer substations, 13 settlements, and four farms were affected; in Orsha district, seven power lines, 107 transformer substations, 63 settlements, and 11 farms were affected. As of the current moment, 8 power lines, 91 transformer substations, and 11 farms remain disconnected. 22 emergency crews from "Vitebskenergo" are involved in restoring power supply. Strong wind gusts also caused problems in Gorodok district yesterday. Here, sheets of slate were torn off the roof of an administrative building in Gorodok, damaging about 70 sq.m of the roof. The slate roof of the Gorodok District Military Commissariat was also damaged by the wind over an area of 10 sq.m. The preliminary material damage amounted to Br10 million.
