This was announced to journalists by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Nikolai Sherstnev, during a comprehensive presentation of this region at the Business and Cultural Complex of the Embassy of Belarus in Russia, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"We want to try to launch Vitebsk-St. Petersburg and Vitebsk-Moscow flights next year," said Nikolai Sherstnev. He noted that the tourism sector is successfully developing in the Vitebsk region and it needs the opening of these flights.
The head of the region emphasized that the region attracts tourists with its nature. Guests are also attracted by the rich cultural heritage of the Vitebsk region and its main brand - the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival, to which, according to Nikolai Sherstnev, more and more Russians are coming every year.
"All our tourist facilities, boarding houses, and recreation centers are open to Russians. We are happy to show them our centuries-old culture and do everything possible to ensure that their impressions of both the Vitebsk region and the country as a whole are only positive," the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee summarized.
