As part of the preventive campaign "With Care for the Safety of our Small Homeland," employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations visited sparsely populated settlements of the Volosovichsky Rural Council along the "Safety Mobile Shop" route. Together with representatives of the Lepel branch of the Vitebsk Regional Consumer Union, rescuers followed route No. 6 of the mobile shop.
Rescuers held preventive talks with elderly people and pensioners to prevent accidents at home and outdoors. They touched upon topical safety issues and presented statistical data on fatalities from fires and drowning, both in the Lepel district and in the region.
Representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded villagers and summer residents about actions in case of fire, rules for calling emergency services, the need to install autonomous smoke detectors, the inadmissibility of smoking in sleeping areas, as well as the prohibition of burning dry vegetation and leaving young children unattended. Ministry of Emergency Situations employees drew citizens' attention to safety near water bodies and while swimming.
Local residents willingly engaged in dialogue with the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees, and children shared how they spend their summer holidays in the village, pointing out examples of potential dangers at home and outdoors.
Along with food products, people took away useful safety knowledge. They were presented with thematic leaflets with important recommendations for life safety as souvenirs.
