1 April, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. The "Vitebskie Debri-2013" national GPS orienteering competition will bring together motorists from four countries, the event organisers informed a BELTA correspondent.
The competition will take place on 6 April in the Vitebsk district. The start-finish point is near the village of Khomishchevo. Over thirty vehicles will compete for victory. The total number of participants and guests is about 150 people from all over Belarus, as well as Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania. In the competitive part, contestants will perform in four categories depending on the driver's training and the vehicle's configuration. The time limit for completing the course is 7 hours. This standard includes finding and reaching the maximum number of "points" issued immediately before the start. The complexity lies in the fact that the tasks are accompanied by serious natural obstacles - blockages, impassable thickets, snow, mud, swamps, and rough terrain.
Winners in each category will be awarded diplomas and prizes. The event is organised by the Belarusian off-road "Jeep-club" in conjunction with the Vitebsk club "Severny Rubezh". -0-
