An autonomous smoke detector is an affordable and highly effective means of early fire detection, saving thousands of lives.
Since 2002, the widespread implementation of this device has begun in Belarus. During this time, thanks to the operation of smoke detectors, the lives of more than 2.7 thousand people have been saved.
Last year, 67 people were saved in the country, including 14 children. In the Vitebsk region, three people received a chance for a "second life".
The principle of operation of the detector is very simple: it reacts to the slightest concentration of smoke and alerts people to danger with a piercing sound signal, allowing them to evacuate in a timely manner and save property.
The device is quite simple to install and operate. It is fixed with two screws to the ceiling or wall, at a distance of no more than 30 cm from the ceiling, and is powered by a standard "Krona" battery. During operation, it should be remembered that the power element needs to be replaced regularly. The device will notify you itself when the time comes by emitting intermittent sound signals.
Today, it is impossible to prevent a fire in a house or apartment, given the high fire load and the significantly increased number of electrical appliances. Installing an autonomous smoke detector is a real way to detect a fire at an early stage and take timely measures to extinguish it or leave the danger zone.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations is launching a large-scale information campaign about the effectiveness of using smoke detectors. The main goal is to remind people that only a child's life can be more precious than their own! Take care of the safety of your loved ones – install an autonomous smoke detector.
