A large-scale information campaign on the effectiveness of using autonomous fire alarms is ongoing in the Lepel district.
For instance, rescuers have organised informational and educational stands in the district's food stores, where they informed citizens about how this simple and affordable device can save lives and property. They emphasised the importance of regularly checking the functionality of the alarms and replacing them as needed.– The main function of the alarm is to detect smoke at an early stage of a fire and emit a loud audible signal, – explained representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).
Informational work is also continuing in children's health resorts. The children were not only told about the importance of this small device but were also shown visually how it works, why it should not be removed, and how it saves lives.
MES employees, with the assistance of the public organisation "Belaya Rus", continue to install alarms in the homes of the most vulnerable categories of citizens.
‒ The alarm is quite easy to install and does not require special maintenance. In case of smoke, it emits a loud audible signal that can wake a sleeping person and give them time to leave the danger zone, – explain representatives of the rescue department to homeowners. ‒ If the device starts beeping rhythmically, it indicates that it is time to replace the battery.
It remains to be hoped that comprehensive preventive work will minimise the number of fires in the Lepel district.
