A large-scale information campaign is underway in the Lepel district, aimed at raising public awareness about the effective use of autonomous fire alarms. As part of this campaign, Lepel rescuers are conducting fire prevention work in residential areas and giving presentations to work collectives.
During visits to households, emphasis was placed on informing the public about the necessity of complying with safety requirements when operating stove heating, installing autonomous fire alarms (AFAs), and preventing emergency operating modes of electrical equipment. Special attention was paid to the households of citizens in need of additional social protection, lonely and single elderly people, disabled individuals, as well as large families.
– An autonomous fire alarm is a device that can detect smoke and sound an alarm, – representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations explained to citizens. – An AFA is a simple and reliable means of protection; it will not only warn you of a fire but also save your life.
Also, as part of the campaign, the head of department, Ivan Petrovich Maskalkov, held a discussion with the work collective of the Lepel Agrarian-Technical College, reminding citizens about the state of fire safety in the district and the consequences of negligent attitudes towards safety rules. Ivan Petrovich also spoke about the advantages of installing an alarm and how to operate this device correctly.
‒ Regular checks of the alarm's operability and timely replacement of the power source are key factors for its effective operation, – emphasized Ivan Maskalkov.
Following the meetings, all participants were given leaflets with fire safety rules, containing recommendations to help prevent fires and preserve life and property.
