17 August, Minsk /BELTA/. Belarus will participate in the bidding for two world rowing championships. This was reported today to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko by the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus, Head of the Belarusian Rowing Federation Association Petr Prokopovich, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Head of State. It has been decided that Belarus will participate in the bidding for two world championships: in 2013 – for canoeing and kayaking, and in 2015 – for academic rowing. It is planned that the international competitions will be held in Brest and Zaslavl. Petr Prokopovich explained that by hosting competitions of such a high level, Belarus will gain invaluable experience in holding world championships. The Republic has already hosted European rowing championships, as well as junior world competitions. However, the country has all the opportunities to organise world championships for the senior programme as well.-0-
