This was stated today by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting with President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov, BELTA correspondent reports. "I want to assure you personally and our friends in your republic that we will do everything in our power to help in this difficult situation," said the head of the Belarusian state. "As with other regions of Russia affected by abnormal weather, we are ready to provide the assistance we are capable of." Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that there is no need to look for any political motives in the assistance provided to Russia from our side. "There is no politics here. There is no need to stir things up in the media," the President said. "What politics can there be when villages are burning." He noted that in Russia they acknowledge that "Belarusian guys work effectively, conscientiously." "We will never consider Russia a foreign country to ourselves. The disaster is common to all of us," said the head of the Belarusian state. The President noted that an unfavorable situation is also developing in Belarus, with the south of the country suffering particularly from drought. However, Belarus has certain experience in dealing with similar situations, and every kilometer is monitored. The country has chosen an active method of combating fires. Two weeks ago, there were up to 500 fire outbreaks, but only for a few minutes. All villages located in the forests were saved. "We are trying to resist the elements as best we can," said the Belarusian leader. At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that the most severe damage in this situation has been inflicted on agricultural production. He noted that despite the reduction in the gross grain harvest, there will be enough bread in the country, and there are also certain reserves.
