18 January, Minsk /Lyudmila Sats - BELTA/. Belarus is ready to sell up to 25% of the shares of OJSC "Belaruskali". This was stated today by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at a meeting on the development of the Belarusian economy, BELTA correspondent reports. "We have offered, and it is no longer a secret, "Belaruskali" (for sale. - Ed. BELTA). We said that we will not sell more than 25%. We have named a price that is currently rising. There are few who wish to buy at such a price, but they exist. If they want to, let them buy; if not, there will be no lower price," the President said. "We have named the price for all enterprises. Let them bring money and buy. No one will give it away for free," the head of state noted. "If anyone hopes for a collapse, shock, and giveaway privatisation here, then this will not happen in the country," Alexander Lukashenko stated. The President reported that there is currently a huge demand for individual Belarusian enterprises. "We can get $25-30 billion for this. And when we spend this $30 billion, what will we sell then? And what will we get from it?" Alexander Lukashenko added. The head of state also noted that if someone pays such money for this property, it means they expect to receive more. In this regard, Alexander Lukashenko urged: "Do not rush to sell. The economy is growing, there is growth all over the world, the value of assets will increase, the value of enterprises will increase, then we will see what to sell and for how much." At the same time, the President noted that he is not in favour of selling today and then thinking about how to live tomorrow. "You cannot live long on what has been accumulated by generations. Therefore, do not rush," the head of state warned.-0-
