Belarus and the African Union have agreed to develop a plan and priorities for cooperation. This issue was discussed at a meeting between the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus to Kenya, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the African Union, Pavel Vziatkin, and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki Mahamat, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service informed BELTA.

The meeting took place at the organisation's headquarters in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia. The Belarusian diplomat spoke about the republic's commitment to the consistent development of relations with African continent countries based on the principles of mutual respect and trust, and to building mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

"In the context of discussing promising areas of interaction between Belarus and African countries, the Chairperson of the African Union Commission highly appreciated the potential for cooperation in the agricultural sector, taking into account the quality of machinery and the competencies of the Belarusian side in the agrarian field," the press service of the foreign affairs agency reported.

The parties agreed to conduct joint work with the relevant departments of the Commission to structure interaction and develop a plan and priorities for further cooperation.
