May 13, Yerevan /BelTA correspondent/. Following negotiations in Yerevan between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Belarus and Armenia signed bilateral documents on cooperation in the fields of nuclear safety, agriculture, and sports, BelTA correspondent reports.
In the presence of the presidents, an intergovernmental agreement on information exchange and cooperation in nuclear safety and radiation protection was signed. The agreement was signed by the Minister of Emergency Situations on behalf of Belarus and the Chairman of the State Committee on Nuclear Safety Regulation on behalf of Armenia.
An agreement on cooperation in agriculture was concluded between the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus and the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia. The sectoral ministers signed the document.
Furthermore, an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in ensuring the rights of persons belonging to national minorities was signed. The document was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs on behalf of Belarus and the Minister of Diaspora on behalf of Armenia.
A memorandum on the development of cooperation was concluded between the Ministry of Industry of Belarus and the Ministry of Agriculture of Armenia. The heads of the respective ministries signed it.
A Cooperation Program in Physical Culture and Sports between the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Belarus and the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Armenia for 2013-2014 was also signed in Yerevan. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Armenia signed this document on behalf of Belarus, and the sectoral minister signed on behalf of Armenia. -0-
