13 July, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. From 10 to 17 July, the Commander of the Emiri Guard of the State of Qatar, Major General Hazza Khalil Ali Al Hajri, is on an official visit to Belarus. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Vladimir Lavrenyuk, representative of the Belarusian State Military Industrial Committee for Information and Public Relations.
In particular, on 12 July, a meeting was held between the head of the Qatari military delegation and the Chairman of the State Military Industrial Committee, Sergey Gurulev. During the conversation, the parties confirmed their intentions to expand cooperation in the military-technical sphere.
A presentation of the capabilities of the defense sector enterprises was held for the guests from Qatar, as well as an exhibition of individual samples of weapons, military and special equipment.
As noted by the State Military Industrial Committee, Qatar is well acquainted with the products of our CJSC "Beltechexport" and NUPP "Atomtech", which participated in a number of international exhibitions in this state. The "Atomtech" enterprise has been engaged in the development and production of systems and devices for nuclear and radiation safety for over forty years. Two such systems are already successfully operating in Qatar.
In addition, in October 2008, a number of samples of military and special equipment produced by the defense sector enterprises underwent trials during the comprehensive strategic exercises of the Armed Forces of Qatar "Angry Falcon", in which the Belarusian military contingent also participated. -0-
