Belarus and Turkmenistan intend to engage new forms of economic cooperation, including the implementation of joint industrial and infrastructure projects with the involvement of investments and the introduction of modern technologies. This is stated in the Belarusian-Turkmen communiqué, which was signed today following the negotiations held in Minsk by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, reports BELTA correspondent. Belarus and Turkmenistan noted the importance of joint efforts to fulfill mutual obligations regarding the project for the construction of a mining and processing plant for the production of potash fertilizers based on the Garlyk deposit of potash salts. The parties expressed mutual interest in the development of scientific, technical and innovative cooperation, which is an important factor for the progressive economic growth of the two countries. The heads of state agreed on the development of joint measures for interaction in the scientific, scientific-technical and innovation fields. The prospects for developing ties in the field of information and communication technologies were also noted, in connection with which an agreement was reached to hold a Belarusian-Turkmen business seminar in this area in Ashgabat this year.
