June 6, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. By the end of 2011, Belarus is expected to reach a 30 percent level of population cost recovery for housing and communal services. To achieve this indicator, a two-stage increase in the relevant utility tariffs is planned for the year. This is stipulated in the action plan of the Belarusian government to ensure balanced economic development in the context of changes in the official exchange rate of the Belarusian ruble. The plan was approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 662 of May 25, 2011. Currently, this resolution and the plan are posted on the official website of the Belarusian government, BelTA reports. The section of the plan containing measures to eliminate price disproportions in the real sector of the economy due to rising prices for imported energy resources, raw materials, and materials provides for the indexation of tariffs for electric and thermal energy for legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. Throughout the year, optimization of retail prices for petroleum products sold on the domestic market will also be carried out to eliminate price disparities with neighboring countries. In addition, this year will see the adjustment of tariffs for urban transport services, suburban road transport, passenger rail transport, and communication services. -0-
