17 August, Kalinkovichi District /Tatyana Polezhay - BELTA/. Belarus has dispatched the first batch of butter to Venezuela. This was reported to the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during his working trip to the Gomel region by the Acting Minister of Agriculture and Food Leonid Marinich, BELTA correspondent reports.
According to the Acting Minister, the first batch of butter weighing 90 tonnes has already been shipped. A total of 720 tonnes of this product will be sent to Venezuela.
In an interview with a BELTA correspondent, Leonid Marinich said that the butter will be supplied to Venezuela in 20 kg blocks and packaged on-site. "Venezuela is currently changing the dietary structure of its population. Previously, margarine was widely used here, but for the nation's health, natural butter is needed," said Leonid Marinich.
He also noted that the plants had been certified, and the Belarusian side plans to export this product to Venezuela in thousands of tonnes.-0-
