Belarus is awaiting a favourable moment to issue Eurobonds. This was announced today to journalists by First Deputy Minister of Finance Maksim Ermolovich, BELTA correspondent reports.

"There is a technical possibility to proceed with such placements, it only remains to find a favourable moment for the issuance, because we did not want to see high interest rates for ourselves, which persist on the global financial market today," noted the First Deputy Minister.

Maksim Ermolovich declined to name the planned organisers of the issue or the specific amount for which the Eurobonds are planned to be placed. The First Deputy Minister explained that at this stage, these issues are the subject of negotiations and are therefore confidential.

At the Belarusian-British Investment Forum in London in 2014, it was announced that Belarus plans to issue Eurobonds worth $1 billion with a maturity of 10 years in 2015. It was noted that the republic is interested in presence on international financial markets. The country has already placed two debut Eurobond issues with maturities in 2015 and 2018. The total amount raised through the issuance of these Eurobonds is $1.8 billion. Of this amount, $1 billion will be repaid in 2015.
