21 October, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Belarus plans to place bonds worth 7 billion Russian rubles on the Russian market in November this year. This was announced today to journalists by Andrey Smolsky, Head of the Main Department of International Financial Relations and Public Debt of the Ministry of Finance of Belarus, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. In the coming days, a government resolution will be signed, and "according to optimal forecasts, we would like the issue to take place in November, with a volume of up to 15 billion Russian rubles according to the Presidential decree," said Andrey Smolsky. He noted that Sberbank of Russia, which is the consultant for the placement of Eurobonds, has proposed to divide the issue into several parts. As a result, it was decided to place the bonds in two tranches – for 7 and 8 billion Russian rubles. At the same time, Andrey Smolsky explained that the interest rate will depend on the maturity. It is also influenced by the fact that a large number of corporate borrowers are currently planning to enter the market. Subsequent additional placement of bonds on the Russian market will depend on investor interest. Regarding the Ministry of Finance's plans to place Eurobonds next year, Andrey Smolsky said: "If we entered the market this year, we will enter it next year, and so on. Let these be small placements to maintain interest, so that there is a yield curve that investors will be guided by when corporate issuers enter the market." -0-
