1 December, Minsk /Tatyana Chumakova - BELTA/. Belarus plans to invest up to $40 billion in the development of agriculture in the next five-year period. This was announced today by the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Ivan Bambiza at a meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Israel, BELTA correspondent reports. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the funds will be directed towards the development of production and social infrastructure in rural areas, as well as the processing industry. In particular, it is planned to invest about $10 billion in the dairy sector during 2011-2015. Ivan Bambiza noted that the agro-industrial sector faces the task of increasing meat production by 1.7 times, and the export of all food products by three times. Belarus has good dynamics in grain and milk production, but the efficiency is still low, the Deputy Prime Minister added. He also noted that Belarus is interested in attracting Israeli technologies, investments, and experience in the agro-industrial complex.-0-
