Belarus ranked first among the CIS countries in terms of retail trade turnover growth in January-October of the current year, BELTA was informed by the National Statistical Committee of Belarus. According to Belstat, for ten months of 2010, retail trade turnover, including public catering, through all sales channels increased in Belarus by 16.6% compared to the same period last year, and in October compared to September - by 5.3%. Moreover, the contribution of food and non-food groups to the total retail trade turnover was equal - 50% each. Kazakhstan ranks second in this indicator, with a trade turnover increase of 12.5% ​​for ten months compared to January-October last year. In Russia, it grew by 4.4%, and in Tajikistan - by 11.8%. The top five leaders also include Azerbaijan with an 8.6% increase in this indicator and Ukraine, where the trade turnover increased by 5.8% over ten months. The lowest retail trade turnover growth was recorded in Armenia - 0.7%, and in Kyrgyzstan it decreased by 4.3%. There is no data for Moldova. As noted by Belstat, the increase in retail trade turnover in Belarus is due to the growth in sales of both food and non-food products. The country's consumer market has been characterized by stability and product saturation in recent years. The population is continuously provided with necessary food products and industrial goods in accordance with demand. Retail outlets offer a wide range of goods in various price categories.-0-
