On June 19, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. Belarus will invite representatives of the OSCE and other international organizations to observe the parliamentary elections. This was announced today to journalists by the Chairperson of the Central Election Commission, Lidiya Yarmoshyna, following the CEC meeting on the preparation and conduct of elections to the National Assembly of the fifth convocation, BELTA correspondent reports.
"International observers will be present at the elections, taking into account our international obligations, which we strictly adhere to," said the Chairperson of the CEC.
Lidiya Yarmoshyna also noted: "The decision on the timing and format of observation by international missions is made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It is the MFA that will send the relevant invitations to international missions."
Belarusian parliamentarians, in turn, will invite friendly parliaments, mainly delegations from CIS countries, she noted. -0-
