Belarus will attract over €180 million from international financial institutions to implement an investment project on expanding sustainable energy use. The corresponding Resolution of the Council of Ministers of September 24, 2019, No. 651 has been officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal, according to BELTA.
In 2020-2024, it is planned to attract loans from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development amounting to €90 million with a term of 20 years and from the European Investment Bank amounting to €90 million with a term of 25 years to finance the investment project "Expanding Sustainable Energy Use," as well as a grant from the Global Environment Facility amounting to $3.653 million to support the implementation of this project.
The government has approved draft agreements as a basis for conducting negotiations.
The State Committee for Standardization (Gosstandart) is authorized to conduct negotiations on the draft agreements and make non-essential changes if necessary. Gosstandart will also sign the documents upon reaching an agreement within the scope of the approved drafts.
