"The representative of the delegation, advisor of the department of economic cooperation and sustainable development Igor Mishkorudny, called on the international community to expand the participation of developing countries in the management of the global economy and the reform of financial regulation mechanisms. He expressed interest in intensifying cooperation between the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Bretton Woods institutions to enhance the efficiency and stability of the financial system, including the UN," the press service reported.
Igor Mishkorudny invited interested delegations to participate in the international conference for middle-income countries "Current Issues of Transition to a New Technological Order," jointly organised by the Government of Belarus and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in April 2015 in Minsk.
In addition, the diplomat positively assessed Belarus's cooperation with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund on the development of the national financial system.
Among other things, the Belarusian delegation noted the priority for UN member states of the process of preparing for the third international conference on financing for development, which will be held in 2015 in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). The issue of the inadmissibility of unilateral financial and trade sanctions against UN countries, including Belarus, which hinder their sustainable development, was also raised separately.
