The Council of Ministers has extended the licensing of Portland cement imports from outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union for six months. The corresponding Resolution No. 734 of December 17, 2020, was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal, according to BELTA.
Portland cement classified under code 2523 29 000 0 of the unified Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity of the EAEU falls under licensing. These one-time licenses are issued by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade in agreement with the Ministry of Architecture and Construction.
The Government has also instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to notify the Eurasian Economic Commission and the CIS Executive Committee about the introduction of the measure, as well as to submit a proposal to the Eurasian Economic Commission for the application of similar measures by other EAEU member states.
The resolution comes into force 10 days after its official publication.
The licensing of Portland cement imports was introduced in Belarus in February last year for six months, but in August the government extended it for another three months.
