Exports of Belarusian goods to these countries increased by 1.8 times to $20.8 billion, imports grew by 23.1% to $17.7 billion. The positive balance was $3.1 billion. In 2011, Belarus also increased its goods exports to CIS countries by 1.4 times to $19.5 billion. Imports of goods from these countries into the republic grew by 36.8%, amounting to $28.1 billion. Trade turnover with CIS countries last year increased by 39.3% to $47.6 billion. The balance was negative at $8.6 billion. At the same time, exports of goods to the Customs Union countries increased by 1.4 times, reaching $14.3 billion, while imports increased by 35.6% to $25 billion. Trade turnover with CU countries in 2011 increased by 36.2% compared to 2010 and amounted to $39.4 billion. The negative balance was $10.7 billion. In general, for 2011, Belarus increased its foreign trade turnover by 43% to $86 billion compared to 2010. Exports grew by 59.4%, amounting to $40.3 billion, while imports increased by 31.1%, reaching $45.7 billion. The balance was negative at $5.4 billion, decreasing by 43.2% compared to 2010. In 2011, Belarus registered export-import operations with 202 countries worldwide. Goods were supplied to the markets of 156 states, and products manufactured in 188 countries were imported. The main trading partners of the republic in 2011 were Russia (44.9% of the total trade turnover), the Netherlands (7.6%), Ukraine (7.2%), Germany (5.1%), Latvia (3.8%), China (3.3%), Poland (2.8%), Brazil and Italy (1.8% each), Venezuela (1.5%). -0-
