27 April, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. In January-February 2011, Belarus increased its export of investment goods by 39.3% to $543.7 million compared to the same period last year. The growth compared to the same period last year amounted to $153.4 million. This was reported to BELTA by the National Statistical Committee.
The increase in supplies was due to the growth in the value of exports of tractors and semi-trailers (by $65.3 million), trucks (by $52.3 million), vehicles designed for the transport of ten or more people (by $7.9 million), road and construction machinery (by $6.4 million), special-purpose vehicles (by $4.4 million).
The import of investment goods for the first two months of 2011 increased by 77.7% to $548.6 million (in January-February last year - $308.7 million). This was due to an increase in import purchases of railway and tram cars (by $28.4 million), tractors and semi-trailers (by $17.6 million), agricultural machinery (by $16.9 million), communication equipment (by $13.7 million), structures of iron and steel (by $13.3 million). -0-
