This was reported to BelTA by the State Committee for Standardization. In 2011, the Republic of Belarus abolished the transition to seasonal time. This decision was made by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of September 15, 2011 No. 1229, the State Committee for Standardization recalled. Now, Belarus will not be switching its clocks forward by one hour on the last Sunday of March and backward by one hour on the last Sunday of October, as it was previously. Time calculation within the territory of Belarus will be carried out in accordance with the international time zone system, based on zone time plus one hour, without switching to seasonal time. The decision to abolish the annual clock change was made to ensure time calculation within the territory of Belarus is coordinated with the Customs Union member states, as well as to make full use of daylight hours and improve the working and leisure conditions of the republic's population. Since 2011, Russia has also abolished seasonal clock changes. In Russia, the adjacent time zone to Belarus currently differs by one hour. The EAEU countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan – did not previously switch their clocks to summer and winter time. Ukraine, which is in the same time zone as Belarus, will turn its clocks back by one hour on Sunday. Consequently, the time difference between Belarus and Ukraine during the winter season will be one hour. When Ukraine switches to summer time in March, the time in our countries will coincide again. Most European Union countries have not yet abandoned clock changes. Neighboring Lithuania, with which Belarus is also in the same time zone, is turning its clocks back this Sunday. Consequently, the time difference between the countries will be one hour until March. The time zone between Belarus and Poland differs by one hour. Therefore, now that Belarus will not be switching to winter time, the difference between us and Poland will be two hours until spring, and after the corresponding period, it will be one hour again.-0-
