Belarus has become one of the leading countries in the development of preschool education. This was noted by the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Vladimir Andreichenko, at the opening ceremony of a new kindergarten in Glubokoye, BELTA correspondent reports.

"Belarus is one of the leaders in the development of preschool education and upbringing, as well as child healthcare," said Vladimir Andreichenko. "Children, their needs, and well-being are issues that are constantly in the focus of the President, executive and legislative authorities."

The Chairman of the House of Representatives stated that great attention is paid in Belarus to supporting young families, especially those in need. It is no coincidence that in recent years the number of families raising two or more children has increased, he noted.

Vladimir Andreichenko thanked the local authorities who supervised the construction of the new preschool institution, expressed hope that children here will receive a worthy preschool education and upbringing, and also wished the staff, pupils, and their parents health and well-being.

The opening ceremony of the State Educational Institution "Kindergarten No. 1 of Glubokoye "Vishnevaya Skazka" was attended by the Chairman of the Glubokoye District Council of Deputies, Galina Unukovich, the Chairman of the Glubokoye District Executive Committee, Oleg Morkhat, representatives of the education department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and construction organizations. Oleg Morkhat, in particular, emphasized the special significance of the new institution for the district center, as it was built in a new residential microdistrict on Severnaya Street. According to him, the microdistrict and its infrastructure will continue to develop. Thus, in 2020, the construction of a school is planned to begin here. Eight residential buildings will also appear here.

The symbolic key to the new building was handed over to the kindergarten manager, Tatyana Lazarenok, by the director of UP "UKKS Gluboksky District", Viktor Yakubenok. The kindergarten on Severnaya Street in Glubokoye is designed for 200 children of early and preschool age. It is planned to accommodate 12 groups: three for early age (nursery), junior and middle groups, two senior groups and one class. The kindergarten building consists of functional blocks, including a medical block, a food block, a swimming pool, a physical education and health block, and an aesthetic education block. All premises are equipped with modern equipment.

The new kindergarten will provide places for all preschool children in the Severnaya Street microdistrict, where 324 children aged 0 to 6 years currently live. In addition, children from six other institutions in the district center can transfer here if their groups are overcrowded. It is estimated that there will be 120 such pupils.

The preschool institution has created 60 jobs (22 for pedagogical staff and 38 for other specialists), which will include employment for staff from educational institutions in the district being optimized this year.

The first stone was laid in the foundation of the kindergarten in September 2014, and the active phase of construction began in March 2015. The total amount of funding is about Br5 million 687 thousand.

After the opening ceremony, guests familiarized themselves with the institution, visited the groups, and communicated with teachers and pupils.

Preschool education in Gluboksky District is provided in 25 institutions. Approximately 1.3 thousand children aged 2 to 6 years are enrolled.
