25 January, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Belarus has entered the top ten countries where electronic postal services are provided at the highest level. This is reported by BELTA with reference to the Universal Postal Union (UPU). A new UPU study notes that the demand for electronic postal services has been growing rapidly recently, and they are developing in all countries of the world. The Universal Postal Union has identified 10 countries where such services are provided at the highest level. This top ten includes Switzerland, Belarus, Italy, Germany, Qatar, Tunisia, France, the Republic of Korea, the USA, and Canada. Internet services, which allow tracking parcel progress, finding a post office, transferring money, and paying bills electronically, are becoming an increasingly important element in the provision of postal services. UPU Head Edouard Dayan emphasized that physical volumes of postal dispatches have decreased. However, post offices are demonstrating innovative approaches and resorting to the use of new technologies to diversify their services. Some postal services report that electronic services account for up to 30% of their total profits.
