Belarus is joining the International Organization of Securities Commissions. This is provided for by Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 436 of July 1, 2019, which was officially published today on the National Legal Internet Portal, BELTA reports.
In order to ensure effective cooperation between the Ministry of Finance and the International Organization of Securities Commissions, the Council of Ministers agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Finance to join this organization as an associate member.
In accordance with the resolution, the payment of the annual membership fee of the Ministry of Finance in this international financial organization may be made from the funds of the republican budget, provided for these purposes in the established manner in the law on the republican budget for the relevant financial year.
The International Organization of Securities Commissions is an international financial organization that brings together national securities market regulators. The organization's headquarters are located in Madrid (Spain). Currently (as of May 2019), the organization has 225 members. Members of the organization regulate securities markets, which account for more than 95% of the global securities market.
