This was stated today at a conference in Moscow by the Prime Minister of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, BELTA correspondent reports. "Equal conditions must be created for fair competition among producers," the Prime Minister emphasized. He also added that the Customs Union entails not only benefits but also certain risks for producers. In particular, competition between them intensifies. At the same time, enterprises of the Customs Union should strive for cooperation for more successful placement and use of capital. The head of the Belarusian government also pointed to the problem of price disparity in the single Customs Union market. This reduces the competitiveness of goods from some countries against the backdrop of subsidies for others. "These issues cannot be resolved instantly, but they must be addressed," Mikhail Myasnikovich stressed. This is necessary, among other things, to eliminate the gap in prices for fuel and energy resources and other commodity groups. The Prime Minister of Belarus thanked his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin for his understanding in resolving issues related to the cooperation of the two countries in the fuel and energy sector. "In fact, over the past six years, gas prices for Belarus have increased 4.5 times, while the prices of Belarusian exports to Russia have grown by 22%," the Prime Minister summarized. -0-
