Traditionally, since 2008, the annual International event "Car-Free Day" has been held in the Republic of Belarus on September 22.

The quality of people's lives depends on the purity of the air. Protecting its purity is everyone's duty. The increase in the number of vehicles places automobiles among the primary sources of atmospheric air pollution. With the constant rise in the level of motorization in society, the amount of harmful substances emitted into the atmosphere increases. Pollutants include toxic components such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons, sulfur oxides, heavy metal compounds, etc. These substances, formed from vehicle exhaust, wear and tear of mechanical parts, tires, and road surfaces, and undergoing various distribution pathways within the ecosystem, ultimately cause damage to the environment and public health. It is impossible to solve this problem without public involvement.

The Lepel District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection calls on all residents and guests of the Lepel district to actively participate in the annual International event "Car-Free Day," which will take place on September 22, 2024. Let's refrain from using cars for one day! One day for the benefit of clean air!
