On June 9, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. OJSC "ASB Belarusbank" has increased interest rates on term bank deposits of individuals in Belarusian rubles and foreign currency since June 9, 2011. This was reported to BelTA by the bank's press service. This applies to both newly accepted and previously accepted deposits, for which the term has not been violated. Depositors with term deposits in Belarusian rubles and foreign currency are granted the right to prematurely terminate the bank deposit agreement from June 15, 2011, and re-register it under any of the existing types of term deposits. In this case, interest payment is made at the rate specified in the agreement without any reduction. The bank has also made changes to the procedure for paying out deposits in foreign currency. If the deposit amount is not paid on time, interest income will be accrued at the interest rate specified in the agreement from the due date to the date of actual deposit payout. This rule also applies to deposits that were closed upon expiration of the agreement term from March 18 to June 15, 2011. For these deposits, a recalculation will also be made at the main rate of a specific type of deposit in full without any reduction. Funds will be paid to the client who applied to the bank by crediting to deposits or in cash. The bank made these decisions in order to protect the interests of depositors.-0-
