5 December, Minsk /Andrei Asfura - BELTA/. In Belarus, the transition of a subscriber to another mobile operator is planned to be carried out in one stage: to obtain the mobile number portability (MNP) service, it will be sufficient to contact the recipient operator. This is provided for by the draft resolution of the Council of Ministers "On Amendments and Additions to the Resolutions of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus of August 17, 2006 No. 1055 "On Approval of the Rules for the Provision of Electronic Communications Services", the Ministry of Communications and Informatization informed BELTA. The draft document also provides for a reduction in the number portability period. It is planned that it will not exceed 24 hours from the moment the request for the service is processed. Currently, to change an operator while keeping the old number, a subscriber must visit the offices of two companies - both the one with which the contract is terminated and the one whose client they become. Moreover, the number portability period is 3 days, which somewhat reduces the value of the service. The draft resolution has been prepared in order to comprehensively regulate the relationship between electronic communications operators, subscribers and users of electronic communications services, as well as to optimize the technological processes for providing certain types of services. The draft document provides not only for amendments to the procedure for providing the number portability service, but also clarifies approaches to the requirements for data transmission services agreements, the mechanism for guaranteeing, ensuring and controlling the quality of data transmission services, the Ministry of Communications noted. -0-
