This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, while communicating with holidaymakers from Moscow at the "Drivyaty" recreation centre of the "Braslav Lakes" National Park, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. "Some people in Russia want us to quarrel, but I say - you won't succeed. No matter what films they make there, no matter what they write, it won't work," said the head of the Belarusian state. The President noted that Russian capital could participate in the creation of tourist infrastructure facilities on the Braslav Lakes, and subsequently, even more Russians could come here for holidays. One of the holidaymakers at "Drivyaty", a Muscovite (General Director of the "Pozitiv" Cultural Centre and President of the international club "Lady Leader" Marina Korosteleva), thanked Alexander Lukashenko for the great attention paid in Belarus to preserving the memory of the Great Patriotic War. She noted the large number of monuments and memorials that are cared for and maintained in good condition. As the head of state noted, partly to preserve the memory of the events of those years, a decision was made to build a new modern building in Minsk for the Museum of the Great Patriotic War. During his visit to the "Drivyaty" tourist base, the head of state familiarised himself with its infrastructure and organisation of work. Commissioned in 1998, the recreation centre covers an area of 3.8 hectares, featuring three residential buildings with almost 100 beds, a restaurant, a banquet hall, a Russian banya, a cultural and wellness centre, and other infrastructure facilities. The territory of the base is equipped with outdoor picnic areas, boat rentals are organised, and a children's playground is available. As reported to Alexander Lukashenko by the Governor of the Vitebsk Region, Alexander Kosinets, it is planned to actively develop recreational opportunities both on the Braslav Lakes and in the region as a whole. Currently, there are almost 300 agro-tourism estates operating in the Vitebsk region, and their number is expected to increase to 500 in the near future. In addition to state funds, investor capital is actively attracted to the development of tourist infrastructure. According to Alexander Lukashenko, solving the road problem would create additional opportunities, including for attracting investors. In the Braslav Lakes region, it is planned to develop a road network connecting the lakes.
