Belarus ranked 6th in the rating for the block "Belarusian Orthodox Church. 1025th Anniversary of the Polotsk Diocese". The first place and the title "Most Beautiful Stamp of the World 2017" went to the Faroe Islands for the block "Faroese Knives" with gold embossing. Brazil took second place with a pair of stamps "Works of William Shakespeare". Liechtenstein closed the top three with the block "Golden Wedding of Princess Marie and Prince Hans-Adam II" on gold foil. More than 70 countries participated in the competition.

The Vienna International Philatelic Exhibition (Wiener Internationale Postwertzeichen-Ausstellung, WIPA) has been held since 1881. The competition jury consists of renowned stamp artists, philatelic journalists, representatives of the Austrian Postal Administration and the Austrian National State Printing House (Austrian stamps do not participate in the competition).
