Draft laws scheduled for consideration at the autumn session were discussed today at a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of the Republic, chaired by Speaker Mikhail Myasnikovich. A total of over 30 draft laws are expected to be considered at the autumn session. "The most relevant of them are the 'On the Republican Budget for 2018', 'On Amendments and Additions to Certain Laws of Belarus on Taxation and Accounting', 'On Regulatory Legal Acts of Belarus', amendments to certain laws on patents for inventions, utility models, industrial designs'," the press service informed. Senators also plan to consider the draft law on amendments and additions to the law on physical culture and sports, amendments to the law on combating terrorism, and other documents.
During the meeting, Mikhail Myasnikovich noted that draft laws should primarily contain norms of direct action. In the opinion of the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, it is also necessary to involve experts and specialists, representatives of public associations, scientific institutions, and business entities more widely, and to practice sending draft laws for discussion to local Councils of Deputies.
Following the meeting, the permanent commissions of the Council of the Republic were recommended to make maximum use of various forms and methods of work when preparing draft laws, including round tables, seminars, and consultations.
As reported, the autumn session of the Belarusian parliament will open on October 2.
